Poor handling of complaints
Serving spoiled food is really a mistake that goes far beyond the acceptable limit. Unfortunately, “the management” did not agree with the nicest and professional lady in the waitress; she understood the situation completely, but the management thought that consuming a crème brullee in the restaurant was more important. Let's just hope the spoiled shrimp doesn't make me sick. Not recommended.

Had another nice stay here.
We had booked an arrangement for 3 days and were unpleasantly surprised a day before arrival with a cancellation because the payment was not received 24 hours in advance. Apparently new rules of the game we weren't informed about. After a phone call this could be corrected, but when we were at the desk on the day of arrival there was no room reserved for us.
They have more than compensated by giving us a suite with all the facilities that go with it at no extra charge.
We had visited this hotel twice before and knew from experience that it is always good to stay here.
The breakfast here is always particularly good and generous.
Also eaten in the restaurant again in the evening and also about that nothing but praise for the food and the staff.
Still, a note:
During a walk around the building in the evening we saw that in the parking garage a corner has been set up as a bicycle scrapyard.
There was a mountain of junk of bicycle parts and remnants of bicycles.
My advice to management is clean up that mess.!!

Fine for few nights
Nevertheless, this van der Valk had a number of minuses in our opinion.
We have not seen cleaning during our 3 nights. And no, we had not booked a package where you choose to skip cleaning.
When asked for a towel change, clean towels were delivered, but used towels were not included.
And what we found a bit less was the many fungi in the shower room.
