Food Fantastic

One night stay, lovely old building, room was okay everything you need, a little tired, very small tv on the wall, bathroom cool and in need of some tlc, had evening meal and breakfast food and staff fantastic, on site parking bit tight when busy, complementary tickets into castle grounds, would recommend and go back ourselves.

Highly recommended

Lovely little hotel restaurant and bar in delightful little village of Ripley. Ripley Castle virtually next door and that was amazing too. Didn’t go inside as had dog but outside and grounds beautiful. They do events and weddings. . Back to hotel. They have dog friendly rooms with dog bed, bowls and snacks. Not massive room but fine. Friendly staff, real ales in bar and decent menu, pheasant breasts were lovely. Highly recommend for a one or two night break. Great base for Ripon ( nice ) and Harrogate .

Thoroughly enjoyable stay

Just spent a lovely night at The Boars head. From the moment we arrived the staff were first class and very welcoming. We had just picked our new pup up so had booked a dog friendly room which was situated across the street in a lovely old house. The room was warm and well equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable stay, it even had a big dog bed and bowls and treats for the dog. A good selection of local ales in the pub and both the evening meal and breakfast were outstanding. We shall return very soon.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location with fantastic staff

Another wonderful stay at The Boars Head. We stayed in Poachers Den this time which is a beautiful suite with large bedroom and bathroom, spacious living area and a corridor in between the two stocked with tea/coffee making facilities. The room was extremely clean and well furnished. As on previous visits, the receptionist Donna made us feel incredibly welcome and really leaves guests with a very positive impression of the hotel. We will definitely be back again soon as we will be craving one of their top quality cooked breakfasts!

Disappointed

Room was tired and old fashion.
Both of our party are Cealiac so we need glute free. We were told there was options.
Gluten free menu was a joke
Pheasant dish (contained gluten)!!!
Fish and Chips gluten free option
At bottom of menu please be aware we have a shared fryer!!!
I chose gluten free pate when it arrived it was cold pork terrine and cold toast.
All in all it wasn't a great experience.
