A nice hotel with poor service

The estate is very nice and the hotel itself is excellently maintained. It has huge potential but is let down by poor levels of service.
The pre arrival service gave us an idea of what to expect. We couldn't access menus on line so emailed the hotel asking for menus and a list of available activities. The reply was that the menus were online and they could only provide details of activities if we told them what date we wanted to do something on. When I provided that information and said I couldn't see the menus they replied back with the menus and explained that the website doesn't work unless you press refresh after each action. They ignored the question about tours.
A few days before arriving I received a message from the hotel via Hotels.com asking if we needed anything. I again asked for details of tours only to be told that they can't help me unless I email them directly (no email address provided so presumably just the same one that had already failed to help).
On arrival I asked about tours, to be told that they don't offer tours. I am fairly sure that's not true but it was clearly too much effort.
There was on tour available within the grounds of the estate, being a wine tour which while appearing to be overpriced we opted to do. In the room it said we could book it at reception. I tried but was told I needed to speak directly with the sommelier. We couldn't find him so the following day I tried again. This time reception said they would speak to him and let me know. Naturally I never heard from them again.
It's worth mentioning that those menus they eventually sent me were out of date with some prices, particularly the wine, being materially higher than what they'd sent a couple of weeks earlier (increased four fold in some cases).
We ate in Natella restaurant on three occasions and the food was very good. The restaurant staff were also good, in particular, Natia who was excellent and understood what the quality of service should be like. The only concern we had with the restaurant was that if sitting outside there were a number of dogs roaming about. They would come and sit next to the table whilst you were eating and the staff did nothing to try to move them on. Not really what you expect in a high class hotel restaurant.
Other things we found strange included no wine glasses in the room in a "wine hotel", the minibar not refilled during our stay, our room wasn't cleaned until 5pm each day. We paid for a room with a terrace. The terrace was hemmed in by shrubbery which was good for privacy but meant that there was no view and very little light got in to the room. Thrre are minor points but kind of summed the place up.

Dear Mr. Mark,
We would like to thank you for sharing your valuable feedback from your recent stay here at the Tsinandali Estate, A Radisson Collection Hotel.
It is very sad and disappointing to read such comments and please accept our apologies for the experience you described in your extensive comment, but here, we would like to emphasize that our colleagues have shared the restaurant menu with you via email and provided you with detailed information about the wine tour, wine tasting or horse riding tour during your stay at the hotel in Pankisi and Lagodekhi protected areas. During the communication with the reception, you told us that the horse-riding tour, the duration of which would be 5-6 hours, was not acceptable for you, because it included the whole day, and as an alternative, the reception offered you a cultural-cognitive tour, which required relatively less time, to which you answered that you would think of it and get back to us with an answer. Regarding the wine tour, since the cost of the tour required the participation of at least 4 people and the mentioned price was not acceptable to you, you asked us to find out if any two guests would be willing to share the tour with you, to which we also told you that we would contact you and the sommelier if they were interested.
Please be assured that all your comments are shared with the appropriate department and we will do our best to create an unforgettable experience for our valued guests during their stay with us and we sincerely thank you for sharing your views as they are very valuable to us.
We hope to have a chance to welcome you again at our amazing property for a better experience and make your next stay comfortable and memorable and show you true Georgian hospitality with a "Yes, I Can!" spirit when your travels bring you back to the area.
Best Regards,

TERRIBLE money value.

It's DEFINITELY not a 5 star hotel. Outside pool useless in a bad weather. Entertainment non-existent. Most of the staff not welcoming and friendly. Restaurant food TOO overpriced and not tasty, just mediocre. Minibar prices outrageous. 7 Gel for 0.50 Gel bottle of water. You can guess the rest. Very disappointed.

Unique way to experience Georgia's wine country ...

Our vacation could have gone south quickly when trying to check in we realized we'd been booked at a different Radisson hotel. Fortunately, Salome at the front desk saved the day. She was helpful, kind, and with a huge smile helped us cancel the other reservation and had us checked in in no time, with an upgrade and the negotiated corporate rate. We had bit of a hiccup with a restaurant server the first night we arrived, she was having a really bad day or needed some extra customer service training, not sure which, but it was an isolated occurrence. The rest of the staff was professional and friendly. We probably didn't take advantage of everything the hotel has to offer, but we did try their heated outdoor pool, which was warm and comfortable to swim in, even in October. The gym is also top of the line, with an amazing view. We toured the gardens, which our child really enjoyed, and visited the on-site museum, a period decorated home of the grounds' original owner Alexander Chavchavadze, also highly recommend. The buffet breakfast was ok, there are two restaurants on site, and we tried them both, Natella was more to my liking both in atmosphere and quality of the food, I'd go back just to have dinner there, wouldn't say the same for the Alexander one. Our premium room was decently sized, a little on the small side for 3 people, but ok still. The king size bed was comfortable, but we really enjoyed the pillows- big, small, firm, soft, you name it, they had it ready without us having to ask. There was an extra charge for a rollaway bed for our child, which we haven't always seen, but be aware of it because it won't show online when you try to book. The town of Telavi was 15 minutes away, seeing that was a nice bonus, as well as buying wine from two nearby shops at ridiculously low prices. Driving to the hotel from Tbilisi (2hr drive in perfect road conditions) we got our Fall fix with the changing leaves, I imagine visiting the hotel in summer must make for a nice vacation as well.
