Weekend Getaway
The intercontinental hotel in Portsmouth was a beautiful hotel. The view and scenery around the grounds was breathtaking and just watching the waves from the ocean was just so relaxing….
The only hiccup I had after spending all that money on the hotel a night they could at least offer a free meal and not be charged….I had breakfast and everything was very delicious and enjoyable
The rooms were very clean, bed comfortable staff were very friendly, polite and very helpful
I will definitely come back again in the future because I had a great stay there

A wonderful experience
Our stay at the Intercontinental Cabrits was one of the best we ever had.
Spending the mornings walking around the meticulously kept and beautiful grounds of the resort, to then explore this delightful island, it's beautiful waterfalls, beaches, flora and fauna. This would be followed by superb dinners, either on the resort, or in one of the many beach cafe's. Usually we followed this up with a cocktail on the resort, created by Brad or Orlando.
The staff were all very welcoming, helpful and warm, and we are both very grateful to all of them for making our stay truly wonderful.

The hotel is stunningly beautiful, clean and accommodating. The main issue was food and beverage service. The staff had no clue on how to wait on tables, present menus, serve beverage or food. We waited 45 minutes for 4 drinks only to be brought one, told two weren’t available and had to wait again for the last. It was disappointing at best. Food was good but they need training in their restaurants!

Beautiful resort!
We stayed here for the second (northern) part of our Dominica trip. This is a beautiful, large (as in we initially kept getting lost) resort hotel that is immaculately maintained. The rooms are very luxurious with uber-comfy beds, nice linens, and a very nice room plan. Ours had a nice outdoor seating area with a plunge pool. The pool areas are gorgeous and vast, and when we were there, quite uncrowded. The pool water temperature is maintained at a pleasingly cool temperature. We enjoyed swimming off the boat dock as well.
The food was very good. In our first 2 days there, there were a number of service glitches in the Cabrits Market restaurant, but these subsided later in our stay. The poolside restaurant and bar went above and beyond. (Special hats off to Deslyn!)
The hotel was very helpful in arranging rides for us (to Indian River, airport, etc.), and a few of the other guests mentioned whale-watching, etc. that had been organized for them as well. The spa is VERY nice. Overall, the staff here is friendly and responsive. The front desk staff was highly responsive.
Overall, this is a lovely spot. The big challenge in a place like this is leaving it!

Cold Pools
Great service. Peaceful location. Breakfast is good, the other meals not so much. The pools are uncomfortably cold - it’s the same temperature year round here so I don’t think there is ever a time when they’d ever be comfortable (all pools are cold on this island). The sun sets behind a mountain 1 hour earlier than places in Dominca where the sun sets over the ocean. A much colder vacation that we had hoped for, but for what it’s worth this is the best place we stayed in Dominica…
