The Donghu Hotel is a hidden gem in the Xihui district of Shanghai. The rooms have an old world feel and are very clean and comfortable. The perfect location to wander and admire the architecture of the old French Concession. Plenty of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants nearby and a quick taxi downtown. The bed was also the most comfortable bed I have slept in in any hotel.

We travelled here as a large extended family with older folk.
Great location in the middle of French concession zone. Beautiful architecture, comfortable rooms, excellent service and staff.
Not much amenities in terms of gym, lounge, or swimming pool.
I enjoyed it, and I think it's worth coming for a cultural stay.

I had a clean and beautiful room. All of the staff were very kind and polite. If I had to say only one bad thing, it was about an air conditioner in my room. I tried making my room warm but it didn’t work well.
