Lovely place to stay

Picture on uk Trailfinders website and photo on hotel website gives the impression of glass fronted cabins overlooking the sea. The reality is the majority of the accommodation are log cabins with intertwining foot ways in the bush. That said after our initial disappointment, our one bedroom log cabin, rustic on the outside, was a modern hotel room on the inside. It was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The decking area was lovely to sit out on and drink our complimentary bottle of wine, shaded by the trees. With a pathway not too far outside our bathroom, we did keep the blind down throughout our stay and I can see how some cabins may suffer more intrusion on their privacy, depending on their position.
Whilst it did remind me of Centre Parcs in the uk as a previous review has suggested. It may not have a pool, but it has Richardson Beach on the doorstep which was beautiful.
All staff were polite, friendly and helpful throughout our two night stay. We ate in the bistro the first night which was good. We ate in the Bay restaurant the second night. The service and prices might suggest a fine dining experience, but the food whilst good did not quite reach fine dining standard in my opinion. The sun set from the bar decking was lovely.
Overall loved the stay. Did the Wineglass Bay Lookout walk, the Cape Tourville Lighthouse walk and the Sleepy Bay Walk. All worth doing.

It is a bit stressful to know there might be tiger snakes around. Maybe they should put traps to try to catch them and release them further away from guest cabins.also the heating system seems to have dirty filters because when turned on, there was strong mildew smell. Have to then turn it off.
For an expensive hotel, I do expect the room to have been updated not so out dated.

Freycinet Lodge stay in Tassie.

How fabulous is this place. Staff are wonderful, helpful, friendly & fun.
If you get the chance try the curated wine tasting matched to local food. Sooooo good.
Loved the cabins, food, wine & most of all the service overseen by the lovely Ben.

An unforgettable stay!

We have travelled to many places in the world but the friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism of the team at Freycinet Lodge is hard to top. We wish to thank all at Freycinet Lodge, Coles Bay Tasmania for making our stay so memorable. Freycinet Lodge is not only highly recommendable as a place to stay but it’s also surrounded by a breathtaking National Park, abundant nature, sheltered bays and sandy beaches. There is also a variety of activities on offer for every taste. Daina & Michael

Very enjoyable

Initially I was put off by the tourist billboards lining the walk to the reception, and by the reception area itself. It does not give the impression one would expect of a hotel as expensive as this is. I wanted to leave, but I had no option. When I got to the Coastal Pavilion we had booked that all dissolved. It was gorgeous. One of the more interesting places I have ever stayed (and that is saying a lot, given how much I travel and how well). The room was special, the food was fine (no restaurant in Tasmania is great), the service was fantastic, and we had a lovely time taking walks and enjoying this place. Yes, it was expensive, but I was sorry to leave.
Note to hotel: ditch your WiFi system. Your hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Passwords to login serve no purpose. They are just annoyances.
